The murder of Dr. George Tiller is yet another assault upon the nation and its sensibilities but this is no ordinary murder. This was a political assassination. George Tiller's assassin had a political objective. This murder is little more than a brazen attempt by Christian fundamentalist terrorists to shutter one of the few late-term abortion clinics in the country and as Matt Yglesias to "create a disincentive for other medical professionals to provide these services."
Dr. Tiller's Women's Health Care Services is one of the few reproductive health clinics in the country where late-term abortions are performed. It is one of two clinics in the Plains states that perform late-term abortions. The clinic was first bombed in June 1986, and was severely vandalized earlier this month. According to the Associated Press, his lawyer said wires to security cameras and outdoor lights were cut and that the vandals also cut through the roof and plugged the buildings' downspouts. Rain poured through the roof and caused thousands of dollars of damage in the clinic. Tiller reportedly asked the FBI to investigate the incident. In 1991, Dr. Tiller's clinic became the focal point of nationwide protests with Operation Rescue targeting the clinic with its "Summer of Mercy" protests. In 1993, Dr. Tiller was shot and wounded in both arms by Rachelle Shannon, a Christian fundamentalist who belongs to an organization called the Army of God. At her 1994 trial, Ms. Shannon testified that she had considered bombing Dr. Tiller's clinic after she learned that the shooting had not stopped him from performing abortions. She added that "if somebody kills George Tiller, I would not assume they did the wrong thing." Can it be any clearer that this is a lunatic fringe that will stop at nothing to impose its warped values?

The Lawrence Journal-World and News relays that Kansas City station KMBC reported a post-it note with a phone number for Operation Rescue in his car at the time of his arrest.

So a bombmaker, tax protester, member of the "sovereignity" movement, anti-abortion zealot and Operation Rescue member: the arrested suspect manages to fit every stereotype of right-wing militia teabagger.

No doubt much more information will be forthcoming later; Roeder is not expected to be formally charged until Monday.

A man identified by the FBI as a member of the anti-government Freemen group was arrested yesterday after deputies found what they called a bomb-triggering device in his car.
Scott Roeder, 38, of Silver Lake, Kan., was arrested in Topeka and held on charges of criminal use of explosives, driving with a suspended license and failure to carry registration and insurance.
Roeder was stopped because his car didn't have a legitimate license plate. Instead, it had a tag indicating the driver was a "sovereign" citizen and immune from Kansas law.
The same type of tag is sometimes used by Freemen, whose members in Montana are in the fourth week of a standoff with federal agents.
Roeder's name is included on an FBI list of Freemen, said Shawnee County Sheriff Dave Meneley.
In Roeder's trunk, authorities found fuse cord, a pound of gunpowder and two nine-volt batteries, one wired to a switch - the alleged triggering device. Ammunition and a blasting cap also were found in the car.

And via Twitter from twitter.com/problemchylde and twitter.com/TeresaKopec, on an Operation Rescue website called Charge Tiller (which in the last 30 minutes or so has been taken down), there's this comment, posted on Monday, September 3, 2007, by a Scott Roeder from Kansas, almost certainly the same Scott Roeder alleged to have assassinated Tiller:
It seems as though what is happening in Kansas could be compared to the "lawlessness" which is spoken of in the Bible. Tiller is the concentration camp "Mengele" of our day and needs to be stopped before he and those who protect him bring judgement upon our nation.

It appears that Roeder decided the he couldn't wait for God to pass judgment, so he assassinated Tiller himself

Randall Terry, Operation Rescue Founder, Says He's More Concerned About Obama's Reaction Than Tiller's Murder

Randall Terry, the founder of anti-abortion group Operation Rescue who led protests against George Tiller's clinic in Wichita, Kansas in 1991, issued a statement about today's killing of the abortion doctor.

In his comments, Terry does not grieve for Tiller or denounce the murder but seems more concerned about President Obama's reaction and what it bodes for the pro-life movement.
"George Tiller was a mass-murderer. We grieve for him that he did not have time to properly prepare his soul to face God. I am more concerned that the Obama Administration will use Tiller's killing to intimidate pro-lifers into surrendering our most effective rhetoric and actions. Abortion is still murder. And we still must call abortion by its proper name; murder.
Those men and women who slaughter the unborn are murderers according to the Law of God. We must continue to expose them in our communities and peacefully protest them at their offices and homes, and yes, even their churches."

In every trial — every single trial — judges solemnly instruct American citizens who are compelled to perform jury duty that they will have a sworn obligation to decide cases objectively — without fear or favor. If a person is unwilling or unable to do that, if the person believes he or she has a bias or prejudice, especially one based on a belief that people are inferior or superior due to such factors as race, ethnicity, or sex, the person is not qualified to be a juror. Indeed, prospective jurors are told that they are not qualified if they harbor even the slightest doubt about their ability to put such considerations aside and render an impartial verdict. If the judge or the lawyer for either side senses bias, the juror is excused "for cause" — the parties are not even required to use their discretionary (or "peremptory") jury challenges to strike such a juror; rather the judge makes a finding that the juror is not fit to serve.

Would Judge Sotomayor be qualified to serve as a juror? Let's say she forthrightly explained to the court during the voir dire (the jury-selection phase of a case) that she believed a wise Latina makes better judgments than a white male; that she doubts it is actually possible to "transcend [one's] personal sympathies and prejudices and aspire to achieve a greater degree of fairness and integrity based on the reason of law"; and that there are "basic differences" in the way people "of color" exercise "logic and reasoning."

If, upon hearing that, would it not be reasonable for a lawyer for one (or both) of the parties to ask the court to excuse her for cause?

Would it not be incumbent on the court to grant that request?

Should we have on the Supreme Court, where jury verdicts are reviewed, a justice who would have difficulty qualifying for jury service?

Folks I’ve been thinking about something for awhile. And this judicial nomination could be just the spark.

You won’t read this on many websites or blogs particularly on Liberal Negro Democrat minion blogs and white folks won’t go near such a thought process publicly but Mexicans (Latinos) don’t like black folks, don’t trust them and any so called alliances that you may read or hear about are as fake as a 3 dollar bill.
Mexicans are as likely to throw out racist statements against blacks and would advocate sending Negros back to Africa just as easily as any racist redneck or KKK grand dragon.

Unemployment among blacks are at record highs (Economist: Jobless rate among African Americans *Michigan* to hit 27.8% and there is no sign of recovery in the near future.
Some of you may remember on my old blog talking about my trip to Los Angeles a few years ago and I talked about the fact that although I had traveled throughout Los Angeles I saw only TWO black people with a job. One at a construction site in Hollywood and one dude at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles (what was a black dining institution now run by Mexicans!) Virtually everywhere I went from convenience stores, gas stations, two malls, no blacks at any of the restaurants I went too and none at the hotel where I stayed. Folks it wasn’t like I only went to one part of town. Mexicans own LA. Sure you could find some black folks in crummy Liquor stores and dives in the hood but generally black folks are shut out.
This was not in some small town in Montana in the middle of redneckville this was LA!

I remembered a story where this black dude was in construction for over 25 years was forced out of a managerial position in construction because he could not speak Spanish.
You think Mexicans, Hispanics… whatever give a damn about the plight of black folks hell no!

My thinking is this… as the Magic Negro ignores our border problem and he along with the Democrats continue to make concessions to Hispanics black folks will be as they say “the odd man out.”
Black folks are already marginalized by idiot Democrats but many are too ignorant to realize it. As Hispanics become bigger power players in this administration and in the Democratic Party black folks will soon get a real taste of what it is like to get screwed over and they will look elsewhere (political party wise) to become relevant again.

Will some blacks start to finally switch to the GOP? Don’t rule it out.

Sotomayor’s racist comment about Latina intellect should not only insult white men it should insult everybody.
Go back and watch the video “The Nation of Aztlan” the Mexicans want this country back bit by bit and they will waste no time running over black folks in the process to get the power and political clout they desperately want.

I JUST WATCHED BILL O’REILLY OFFER A NON-APOLOGY APOLOGY on the Hot Air matter — sorry, but totally inadequate. O’Reilly misrepresented something as Hot Air’s when it came from a commenter — either deliberately, or because he’s got a lousy staff that misinformed him — and he should have apologized frankly. He didn’t, and his wriggly response made him look worse. Earlier on the show he talked about the New York Times losing the trust of readers; later in the show he bragged about his own ratings. Perhaps he should consider that the Times’ fate might become his, if he squanders the trust of viewers in Times-like fashion. . . .

I’m glad Hot Air put this on You Tube so I did not have to tune into his windbag fest show.

Sotomayor would let prisoners vote

Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor wants to give jailbirds the right to vote. It's her opinion that the federal Voting Rights Act can be used to force states to allow voting by currently imprisoned felons. Ms. Sotomayor's dissenting opinion in a 2006 felon-voting case should make senators extremely wary of confirming her for the high court.

In Hayden v. Pataki, a number of inmates in New York state filed suit claiming that because blacks and Latinos make up a disproportionate share of the prison population, the state's refusal to allow them ballot access amounts to an unlawful, race-based denial of their right to vote. Eight of 13 judges on the liberal-leaning Second Circuit dismissed their arguments, and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled likewise in a similar case.

Yet, operating on a dubious and extremely broad reading of the Voting Rights Act, Ms. Sotomayor dissented from the decision. In a remarkably dismissive, four-paragraph opinion, she alleged that the "plain terms" of the Voting Rights Act would allow such race-based claims to go forward.

Judge Jose Cabranes, who like Ms. Sotomayor was appointed by President Bill Clinton, didn't find the matter to be so clear. His majority decision against the criminal felons, in favor of the state, comprised 36 tightly reasoned pages. Particularly compelling is the fact that the Voting Rights Act was passed to help further the aims of the Constitution's 14th and 15th Amendments. The 14th Amendment specifically allows states to deny the vote to those convicted of crimes.

Ms. Sotomayor is thus in the position of asserting that Congress can prohibit New York from doing something the Constitution itself specifically endorses. It's as if she thinks black and Hispanic felons are convicted in order to deny them the vote, rather than that they are denied the vote as a result of being duly convicted. Her position ignores the fact that it is the convicts' own actions, their crimes - not any state-based racial discrimination - that make those felons ineligible to vote.

As almost every state has done since the United States was founded, New York forbids currently incarcerated or paroled prisoners from voting. Some states go even farther by prohibiting some felons from voting even after they have served their sentences. New York's law is not so stringent. It only applies to felons still under criminal sentences. It equally applies to all felons, black or white.

There is growing evidence that Judge Sotomayor believes some races are more equal than others. She said in a 2001 speech that she would expect a Latina judge to reach the right decision more often than would a white male judge. Her dissenting opinion in Hayden v. Pataki is another example of her taking racial grievance-mongering to absurd new depths. They are depths unbefitting a Supreme Court justice.

Pat Buchanan's Executive Director to Be Sentenced for Violent Hate Crime

Marcus Epstein, executive director of Pat Buchanan’s “The American Cause” and Tom Tancredo’s Team America PAC, and founder of “Youth for Western Civilization,” is going to be sentenced on July 8th for verbally and physically assaulting a black woman in Washington DC in 2007.

According to documents obtained from District of Columbia’s Superior Court, Epstein, 25, must appear before Judge Wendell P. Gardner on July 8 for sentencing after pleading guilty to simple assault charges stemming from an incident during the early evening hours of July 7, 2007. The documents state that Epstein was walking down the street making offensive remarks when he encountered the victim, called her the “N-word” and struck her in her head. He was briefly detained by the woman’s husband, but was able to escape, only to be arrested minutes later by a Secret Service officer who witnessed the attack. According to the officer’s statement, a friend of Epstein’s informed him that he had been drinking.

Unprofessionalism at the Boston Herald: White Men Attacked

Margery Eagan of the Boston Herald has done it again. She's unleashed her deathless prose filled with soaring rhetoric and high concepts all revealing her infinite sagacity. OK, that was just sarcasm. In truth, Eagan has given us another example of the sort of low-end, guttural, sputterings that we have become so used to seeing drip like sour milk from her pen. Her latest Boston Herald piece is a prime example of the unprofessionalism that pervades her work.
In a posting titled "Men in throes of Supreme panic," Eagan gets into her best name calling mode against all those eeeevil "white men" out there that might find reason to oppose President Obama's nomination of Sonia Sotomayor, a woman well known for positing that female Hispanics are inherently better judges than white men -- a sentiment that if reversed would be considered a racist statement.

Judging judges: the wise latina, the white man, and justice - NeoNeocon

Much attention is being paid to the following statement made by Sonia Sotomayor in a 2001 speech in Berkeley, California:

Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences, a possibility I abhor less or discount less than my colleague Judge Cedarbaum, our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging. Justice [Sandra Day] O’Connor has often been cited as saying that a wise old man and wise old woman will reach the same conclusion in deciding cases…I am also not so sure that I agree with the statement. First, as Professor [Martha] Minnow has noted, there can never be a universal definition of wise. Second, I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.

To summarize: Sotomayor is saying that she is not especially bothered by the fact that judges may be using their own ethicity and/or gender to come to different decisions. Justice is not blind and impartial, and apparently this is okay with her. In fact, she celebrates the phenomenon, saying that she hopes a wise latina woman would dispense better decisions than a white man because of her “rich” life experiences; she embraces this sort of judicial inequality.

A Contrast - Powerline

With a stroke of the pen, Barack Obama has imposed higher fuel-economy standards on the American auto industry. Those standards can only be met by making the average car smaller and lighter than consumers prefer. The inevitable result is that thousands of innocent Americans, possibly tens of thousands, will die painful and sometimes fiery deaths, while many thousands more will be seriously injured. This prospect apparently gave Obama no pause whatsoever. He has never so much as hinted that he sees a moral dimension in the trade-off between human life and reduced carbon emissions.

On the other hand, Obama sees the brief and physically harmless discomfort of three terrorists as posing a moral crisis of almost unparalleled dimension, necessitating endless apology and hand-wringing. The contrast in Obama's priorities is striking, to say the least. I would submit that this is what happens when you substitute preening for intelligent policy-making.

As the national debate on health care reform gains speed, everybody's looking at Massachusetts' experiment in mandated health insurance. From today's Boston Globe there's an article titled "Costs snarling health overhaul – Study finds more are struggling to pay; gains at risk in state's foray into insurance." Here's a telling passage:
While the state is facing cost challenges, he said, implementation of near-universal coverage in 2006 still put consumers here in a better position than in other states. "We should be lucky enough to have those problems [nationally]," Altman said of the challenges outlined in the Urban Institute survey. "If we get to a point where everyone is insured, then we can move on to worry about the affordability of care."

This Is Proof of Recovery? - Let Freedom Ring

President Obama plans on highlighting the fact that it’s been 100 days since singing ARRA, aka the Porkulus Bill. Accompanying his speech is this report which supposedly reports of the recovery being unleashed by the Democrats’ porkfest. Here’s a little portion of it that’s worth debunking:

From the new State of Maine Ferry to a community health center in Mississippi, from classrooms in Florida to the Willamette River Bridge in Washington, we are using the Recovery Act to jump-start our economy today, while building a new foundation for the sustained economic growth of tomorrow. In the first 100 days since President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act into law, we have obligated more than $112 billion, created more than 150,000 jobs and helped communities and tribes in every state and territory.

But recovery is more than just a compilation of statistics; it’s the return of hope and optimism about the future that comes with making life better for communities and families across the country. And it’s proof of America’s vast capacity to create real progress in the short term as we emerge from an economic crisis that was years in the making.

Borrowing $787,000,000,000 for public works projects, most of which will be spent after the 2010 midterm elections, is hardly a springboard to prosperity. Spending money on “classrooms in Florida” might sound nice but it’s hardly something that will jumpstart this faltering economy.

A man aged 29 has fathered 21 children with 11 different women, it emerged yesterday.
Desmond Hatchett's brood came to light after authorities in Tennessee in the U.S. took him to court for non-payment of child support.
He has apparently set a U.S. record but said: 'It just happened.'

He added that he would not have any more children. 'I'm done. I'll say I'm done,' he said.
Hatchett, who earns a minimal wage, told TV reporters he knows the names and ages of all his offspring.
Authorities in Knoxville said they plan to take half of his monthly salary to pay for the youngsters but officials said that would work out to just over £1 a week for each.
His lawyer Keith Pope said: 'The children can't all be supported by Desmond, so the state of Tennessee has had to step in.'
Many Knoxville residents called for him to be castrated.

Prolific father Desmond Hatchett even boasted of fathering four children by different women in the same year.

Hatchett's name appeared on court documents 11 times representing 15 of his 21 children.
U.S. authorities are now braced for more women coming forward to claim Hatchett is the father of their children after he appeared on local TV.
He said the women he was involved with all knew he had other children.
One mother, who has two children with Hatchett, said she should get £44 a month but rarely receives any child support.
'It's frustrating, but usually, when I ask he gives it to me,' she said.
Authorities in Knoxville, Tennessee ordered Hatchett to court to explain how he intends to pay child support.

Reporter Dragged Kicking and Screaming From Near Air Force One

(Story Link) A reporter for a small newspaper was forcibly removed from a press area near Air Force One shortly before President Barack Obama arrived at Los Angeles International Airport to depart California early Thursday.

Airport security officers carried the woman away by the feet and arms as she protested her removal.

She later identified herself as Brenda Lee, a writer for the Georgia Informer in Macon and said she has White House press credentials. The newspaper's Web site says it is monthly publication a Brenda Lee column is posted on it.

Calls to the newspaper and the White House press office were not immediately returned.

Lee said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press that she wanted to hand Obama a letter urging him "to take a stand for traditional marriage."

She said she asked a Secret Service agent to give the president her letter, but he refused and referred her to a White House staffer. Lee said she refused to give the staffer the letter.

"I said, 'I'll take my chances if (the president) comes by here,'" said Lee, who identified herself as a Roman Catholic priestess who lives in Anaheim, Calif. "He became annoyed that I wouldn't give him the letter."

Lee, who was wearing what she described as a cassock, said she protested when she was asked to leave.

The Anti-Defamation League has a report on white supremacists’ plans to infiltrate “tea party” protests on July 4th, in order to recruit new members: White Supremacists and Anti-Semites Plan to Recruit at July 4 Tea Parties.

The Tea Party phenomenon, which began with anti-tax rallies staged across the country on April 15, 2009, will continue as activists in almost every state are planning similar events on July 4. Notably, white supremacists are again planning to participate. As they have done with other political and social issues, for example, promoting the Ron Paul campaign and using the immigration debate, white supremacists and anti-Semites are planning to exploit Tea Parties to disseminate their hateful views and recruit a larger following.

Extremists plan to recruit at Tea Parties

Stormfront, the most popular white supremacist Internet forum, is home to discussion between extremists eager to influence the events. In addition to circulating a list of local organizers and promoting planned rallies, Stormfront members are trying to find ways to involve themselves in the events. In posts to the forum, many voice their intent to attend the Tea parties for the purpose of cultivating an “organized grassroots White mass movement.”

"We need a relevent [sic] transitional envelope-pushing flyer for the masses. Take these Tea Party Americans by the hand and help them go from crawling to standing independently and then walking toward racialism.“

”We intervene to shape the new pro-White grassroots agenda from within the crowd. We intervene for active effect at the event, for advancement of White racial consciousness and solidarity, and for the growth of the organized grassroots White mass movement and the most perceptive racially aware activist element.“

”I also agree that spreading the WN (“White Nationalist”) message at these events is a good idea-it’s time already,we’ve gotta do it!! Carefully, of course.“

”A big crowd of irate White folks protesting the government seems like the perfect time and place for us WN’s to promote our cause, at least to my way of thinking.“

”I distributed WN literature at the last Tea Party in Phoenix. I will be doing it again in July. This is the time and the place. For those on a budget, I would suggest printing business cards with the web address of your group or organization. Keep it simple.“

”I think they’d be ideal for spreading WN literature and gaining recruits in large numbers, more quickly.“

Tea Party Americans Coalition

An anti-Semite and white supremacist using the name ”Whites Forward“ created the Tea Party Americans Coalition (TPAC) as ”a working group for serious White racialist ACTIVISTS in the US who want to effectively coordinate our efforts and intervene for effect in Tea Party-type events.“ Anti-Semitic, racist, and anti-immigrant themes run through the six issues on which the working group is based.

”Whites Forward“ is hoping that TPAC will be the ”genesis of our new White mass movement and the fertile womb for our pro-White political party.” He has called on other white supremacist groups to align themselves with the coalition, including the Council of Conservative Citizens, the Nationalist Coalition, David Duke’s EURO organization, and European Americans United.

Some of you may remember that I wrote back when these Tea Parties were being announced that I thought it was a very bad idea mainly because protesting in general brings about negative connotations.
Idiot liberals protest stupid shit all the time and anyone who have been in the audience during one of these moronic protests can see that it resembles a fucken freak show.

Some of you may also remember when I wrote about the March on the Pentagon back in March of 2007 my strongest memory was not the fact that the liberal attendance numbers were greatly exaggerated, or the fact that liberals were bribing homeless people to carry stupid signs and again it resembled a fucken freak show.
My biggest memory was the Vietnam Vets who were suppose to be supporting the opposing side by protecting the monuments from liberal vandals more times than I could count were harassing old ladies and bullying old dudes with walkers. They took signs from old ladies and broke them, tried to intimidate some of the young liberals threatening them with violence and yours truly almost got into several fights with some of these redneck bastards because they assumed that I was supporting the lib tards on the other side.

Racist statements were being shouted through a bullhorn calling the black protesters coons and telling them to go back to Africa, never mind that there were a number of black Vietnam vets nearby.

White supremacists are taking the next logical step in their evolution to rally displaced and uneducated white people into turning what is suppose to be a protest about big government and government spending into a race baiting exercise.

Most of the tea party folks know that the Tea parties in Boston in1773 was based on Various Acts by the British government Stamp Act, Townsend acts Tea Act. Taxation without representation the colonists had no representation however these tea parties TEA meaning: Taxed Enough Already.

Many Americans were outrage by the spending by the sellout Republican congress and the Bush Administration. From the Medicare Health Care benefit program at the beginning of his term to the bailouts of the banks and the car industry at the end of the term.

They are outraged by the massive levels of spending by the Magic Negro with epic deficits as far as the eye can see. People’s children, grandchildren will have to pay for these programs: Porkulus package, the Omnibus spending bill, the potential Amnesty bill, Universal Health ect.

Most of the people who participated in the Tea Parties are not white supremacists who hate all minorities. They are Democrats, Republican, Libertarian, pro choice, pro life, straight, gay, bisexual; atheists, agnostic, Jews, Christian; Muslim and yes some Negros participated.

Intellectual dishonesty and media malpractice from the tea bagging jokes to accusations of racism. From Garofalo to liberal media pimps like Anderson Cooper to David Shuster all they pimped was pure lunacy.

HOWEVER…. HOWEVER… if those of us on the right and that include bloggers, print media and TV pundits, radio talks show hosts, politicians and decent Americans need to ensure that these racist rednecks are kept at bay because the ignorant redneck elements could screw us out of a chance to get the Magic Negro the fuck out of office.

I understand that I may be overstating the numeric clout of these racist idiots but I am being a bit more cautious than most.

The right already has a huge image problem and the left is winning the propaganda war.

I’m a black man but my disdain for the Magic Negro and his socialistic policies cannot be overstated. If I had the political or economic clout I would be leading the rebellion to remove his tired idiot ass out of office.

However there are more than a few white people who are blinded by simpleton bullshit like the Magic Negro’s race and anyone who is stupid enough to only focus on that aspect need to be stifled.

D'Escoto, the Times said, believes the way out of the global financial crisis "should be lined with all manner of new global institutions, authorities and advisory boards," including the Global Stimulus Fund, the Global Public Goods Authority, the Global Tax Authority, the Global Financial Products Safety Commission, the Global Financial Regulatory Authority, the Global Competition Authority, the Global Council of Financial and Economic Advisers, the Global Economic Coordination Council, and the World Monetary Board.

D'Escoto is the former foreign minister of Communist Sandinista Nicaragua and Catholic Priest of the Maryknoll Order who advocates Marxist-oriented liberation theology and won the Lenin Peace Prize from the old Soviet Union. D'Escoto also claims a Master's of Science from Columbia University's School of Journalism.

The Times interviewed Paul Oquist, D'Escoto's senior adviser for the conference, who sat beneath portraits of Fidel Castro of Cuba, Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua, among others.

The problem is that the Times, in its story, "At U.N., a Sandinista's Plan for Recovery," didn't mention until the 13th paragraph that the official U.N. list of "experts" behind the plan include an American economist, Joseph E. Stiglitz, a Nobel Prize-winning professor from Columbia University who supported and contributed to Obama's presidential campaign and advises Congressional Democrats on economic policy.

Stiglitz, an advocate of nationalizing U.S. banks, is also a member of the Socialist International Commission on Global Financial Issues and his name appears on a separate list of 15 "special advisers" to D'Escoto obtained from the U.N. by Inner City Press.

Another name on the list-Noam Chomsky-is on the board of the Communist Party spin-off, the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism.

President Barack Obama’s nominee to fill a Supreme Court vacancy has yet another tie to Connecticut. She sided against a student in the infamous “douche bag” case, and that has upset some free-speech advocates.

In August 2007, Judge Sonia Sotomayor sat on a panel that ruled against an appeal in Doninger v. Niehoff.
Avery Doninger was disqualified from running for school government at Lewis S. Mills High School in Burlington after she posted something on her blog, referring to the superintendent and other officials as "douche bags" because they canceled a battle of the bands she had helped to organize.

The case went to court and in March 2008, Sotomayor was on a panel that heard Doninger’s mother’s appeal alleging her daughter’s free speech and other rights were violated. Her mother wanted to prevent the school from barring her daughter from running.
Sotomayor joined two other judges from the 2nd Circuit in ruling that the student’s off-campus blog remarks created a “foreseeable risk of substantial disruption” at the student’s high school and that the teenager was not entitled to a preliminary injunction reversing a disciplinary action against her, Education Week reports.

In their opinion, the judges said they were “sympathetic" to her disappointment at being disqualified from running for Senior Class Secretary and acknowledged her belief that in this case, “the punishment did not fit the crime.”
However, the judges decided they were not called upon to determine if school officials acted wisely.

“As the Supreme Court cautioned years ago, “[t]he system of public education that has evolved in this Nation relies necessarily upon the discretion and judgment of school administrators and school board members,” and we are not authorized to intervene absent “violations of specific constitutional guarantees.”

The ruling in this case has come under heavy criticism from some civil libertarians. Some say this case presents a solid rationale for rejecting Judge Sonia Sotomayor of New York’s Second Circuit Court of Appeals to fill the seat of retiring Justice David Souter.

“The continual expansion of the authority of school officials over student speech teaches a foul lesson to these future citizens,” Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, told the New Britain Herald. “I would prefer some obnoxious speech [rather] than teaching students that they must please government officials if they want special benefits or opportunities.”

George H.W. Bush's Legacy of Liberal Judicial Picks Lives On

With all the talk of how George W. Bush should have been more like dear old dad (in terms of foreign policy), it is clear that the younger Bush's record on judicial picks is far and away superior -- a point that has been underscored today.

With Justices Roberts and Alito, the younger Bush gave us two terrific justices who are both intellectual heavy-weights -- and understand that the role of the judicial branch is to interpret the law, not to legislate from the bench. (Of course, there was that dreadful Harriet Miers pick, but let's not dwell on that, as she -- thankfully -- did not make it to the bench.)

In terms of a lasting legacy, a president's Supreme Court picks cannot be overestimated. Because judges can serve for life, the impact of George W. Bush's Supreme Court picks will likely outlive him -- as will his father's picks (including lower-court picks) -- which continue to have an impact.

To be sure, one of the reasons George W. Bush's seated justices turned out to be so outstanding is because conservatives had been burned by his father, who gave us Justice Souter.

Because of Souter, conservatives learned to insist on highly-qualified judges who have a record of not being activist judges. After Souter, conservatives would no longer take it on faith that a nominee would be a good judge -- as George H.W. Bush did when he listened to then Chief of Staff Sununu, who vouched for fellow Granite Stater Souter. (In fairness, not all of H.W.'s picks were liberal. After all, he did nominate Justice Clarence Thomas.)

It is ironic that Souter may now be replaced by another George H.W. Bush pick, Sonia Sotomayor. It was Poppy Bush who first appointed her to the bench in 1991, as part of a deal which allowed Senator Moynihan to pick one of every four appointments in New York. She was then elevated to the U.S. Court of Appeals in 1998 by President Bill Clinton.

Sadly, George H.W. Bush's picks continue to haunt conservatives, as we now have a Sotomayor nomination. Make no mistake: Sotomayor is a hard-left nominee who is more liberal than Judge Souter. Her judicial philosophy -- based on her previous comments and decisions -- implies that she believes her personal political agenda trumps the law.

Since I was pretty ill over the last several days I’ve kinda backslid on my self imposed moratorium on watching idiot pundit TV shows and the moment I did I ended up pissing myself off again.

I caught a little of Bill O’Reilly last night and he has this segment where he has Amanda Carpenter report on blog activity and how they are covering major political topics.

In his never ending attempt to draw bigger ratings he has now taken it upon himself to not only attack left wing blogs by taking (blog comments) out of context but he is now doing the same on right wing blogs as well.

This is the same man who about a year ago had this rant on his TV show that people who blog are not real Americans and those bloggers were “left wing loons” and he continually painted bloggers as “hate mongers.”

Dear Mr. O’Reilly:

In case your internet snoop happens to peep my humble little site let me tell you something, you can kiss my black ass because you are one of the most intellectually dishonest people on TV.
In addition you are one of the most annoying people on TV. Your shows are almost unwatchable because even when you have guests on your show you can’t keep your fucken pie hole shut long enough for anyone to make a point.

You routinely take comments out of context and exaggerate the basic facts on topics. The only people who routinely watch your tiresome show are people who are either too lazy or too busy to keep up on major topics and because MSNBC might as well be called the Communist Broadcast Network and CNN is now a joke there are simply no other options.

The only reason why you run this silly segment with Amanda is for ratings because your thinking is bloggers do one thing very well and that is pay attention because most of us bloggers are narcissist and any attention even negative attention means more readers or some form of fleeting temporary notoriety.

You Mr. O’Reilly are the reason why I have totally rejected TV pundit gab fests, even more so that Keith Olbermann. Keith Olbermann is a complete fraud and he completely comes across as one. I like that Bill O'Reilly stands up for traditional American culture in a great many ways. He's a bit too much of a self-promoter for me to do headstands over him. But on many levels, he's fighting the good fight. That's cool.

But it's always been clear that when it comes to the Internet and blogs especially, he doesn't know his butt from his elbow. Besides that, Hussein is the freaking guys actual name. I realize it is often used against him as sort of a smear. But it's his name, ... too freaking bad. It should have been used more before the election, not after. But I fight to win. Black Harvard student: Racism part of campus ban

Story Link - BOSTON (AP) — A black Harvard University senior who lives in the dorm where a campus visitor was fatally shot says school officials ordered her out of the building and told her she could not graduate, singling her out because of her race.

Chanequa Campbell, of New York, is a friend of the shooting suspect's girlfriend, another Harvard student, but has no connection to the suspect or the victim, her attorney, Jeffrey Karp, told The Associated Press.

She was ordered off campus Friday with little notice and without being told why, Karp said. She was allowed to gather only a few personal belongings from her room after receiving a no-trespassing order, he said.

"There is no citation to the student code, no citation to any law, no citation to any facts," he said.

Harvard spokesman Robert Mitchell said in a statement that the school does not comment on an individual student's status.

Campbell, a sociology major, lived in the dorm where 21-year-old Justin Cosby, a former Salem State College student, was killed May 18 in what authorities say was a drug-related robbery attempt. Jabrai Jordan Copney, a 20-year-old songwriter from New York City, has been charged with murder.

No one else has been charged in the case, but authorities are looking for two other men they think were involved in the confrontation.

Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone has said investigators also were looking at the involvement of Harvard students before and after the shooting.

Copney gained access to the Kirkland House dorm with an electronic card key given to him by a student, prosecutors said. That key did not come from Campbell, Karp said. Campbell was at an exam and at work the day of the shooting and lives in a part of the dorm far from the scene.

Copney is being held without bail after a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf on Friday in Cambridge District Court.

Karp said he did not know of any other student ordered off campus because of the shooting.

Campbell told The Boston Globe for a story Tuesday she believed she was being "singled out."

"The honest answer to that is that I'm black and I'm poor and I'm from New York and I walk a certain way and I keep my clothes a certain way," she said.

Karp said Campbell was not available for an interview Tuesday. He would not say whether she had returned to her Brooklyn home or whether she remained in the Boston area.

In a report last month, a panel convened to look into whether campus police unfairly stopped black people because of their race said more work needed to be done to create a welcoming environment at the school, where 11 percent of admitted students are black.

In 2004, police stopped and questioned a prominent black Harvard professor who matched a robbery suspect's description. Then, in 2007, police responding to noise complaints asked leaders of black student groups holding a field day on campus to show their Harvard IDs.

Last year, a black campus worker who lost his bicycle lock key said an officer drew a gun on him after he tried to cut the lock off.

Karp said Campbell has not been formally expelled, giving her hope that she would be able to attend the June 4 commencement.

"Our hope and prayer is that Harvard will reconsider and allow her to graduate," he said, adding later that Harvard has "made it clear that their position is intractable."

He also left open the possibility that Campbell may take the school to court.

Campbell fears her future has been put in jeopardy, her lawyer said.

"This has besmirched her academic reputation," Karp said.

The New York Times is out this afternoon with a preview of a profile of Bill Clinton running in its Sunday magazine this weekend. Written by Peter Baker, who covered Clinton’s final years in the White House for the Washington Post and who now covers President Obama for the Times, the piece is all about what the former president has been up to lately now that his wife is Secretary of State. There’s plenty of interesting scenes in the piece, starting with the opener: Clinton, looking at handbags and jewelry in Peru, confesses that he likes picking out gifts for his friends’ wives and girlfriends. The former president, who has now been out of the White House longer than he was in it, is an expert at craft stores around the world “and can tell you the best ones in Hong Kong or Arusha,” Baker writes. Thus goes the life of a former president.

But it’s the underlying tension between Obama and Clinton that still lingers from the campaign that’s most telling in the piece. While it appears Obama and Hillary Clinton have made nice, Bill Clinton is still upset about the campaign. He’s still mad that he was trashed for making racially insensitive comments about Obama."None of them ever took seriously the race crap," he says. "They knew it was politics." And according to those close to him, Clinton hasn’t forgiven Ted Kennedy or his niece, Caroline, for endorsing Obama. Ditto for Bill Richardson. Clinton tells Baker that he’s only talked to Obama once or twice since Inauguration Day, though he talks to VP Joe Biden weekly and sends memos to Jim Jones, Obama’s national security adviser. “I try to stay out of their way,” Clinton says. “I’ve got plenty to do. I’ve got a full life here. If I come up with an idea I think that’s helpful to them, I give it to them.” If his wife asks for advice, he gives it to her—though he notes that it’s harder for him to get in touch with her these days. (Her cell phone doesn’t work at the State Department.) “She used to look forward to me coming home from wherever I’ve been,” he says. “Now I’m afraid I’ll be second fiddle to whatever world leader she’s just met.”

While Clinton may still have issues with those in Obamaland, it’s been well documented that he’s made peace with other former foes includes conservatives like Richard Mellon Scaife who trashed him while in office. This isn't a jurisprudence that the Founders would recognize, but it is the creative view that has dominated the law schools since the 1970s and from which both the President and Judge Sotomayor emerged. In the President's now-famous word, judging should be shaped by "empathy" as much or more than by reason. In this sense, Judge Sotomayor would be a thoroughly modern Justice, one for whom the law is a voyage of personal identity.

"Experience being tested by obstacles and barriers, by hardship and misfortune; experience insisting, persisting, and ultimately overcoming those barriers," Mr. Obama said yesterday in introducing Ms. Sotomayor. "It is experience that can give a person a common touch of compassion; an understanding of how the world works and how ordinary people live. And that is why it is a necessary ingredient in the kind of Justice we need on the Supreme Court."

In a speech published in the Berkeley La Raza Law Journal in 2002, Judge Sotomayor offered her own interpretation of this jurisprudence. "Justice [Sandra Day] O'Connor has often been cited as saying that a wise old man and wise old woman will reach the same conclusion in deciding cases," she declared. "I am . . . not so sure that I agree with the statement. First, . . . there can never be a universal definition of wise. Second, I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."

We quote at such length because, even more than her opinions, these words are a guide to Ms. Sotomayor's likely behavior on the High Court. She is a judge steeped in the legal school of identity politics. This is not the same as taking justifiable pride in being the first Puerto Rican-American nominated to the Court, as both she and the President did yesterday. Her personal and family stories are admirable. Italian-Americans also swelled at the achievement of Justice Antonin Scalia, as Jewish-Americans did at the nomination of Benjamin Cardozo.

But these men saw themselves as judges first and ethnic representatives second. Judge Sotomayor's belief is that a "Latina woman" is by definition a superior judge to a "white male" because she has had more "richness" in her struggle. The danger inherent in this judicial view is that the law isn't what the Constitution says but whatever the judge in the "richness" of her experience comes to believe it should be.

There are signs of what this means in practice in her lower court decisions. One of them is Ricci v. DeStefano, involving the promotion of white firefighters in New Haven and now pending before the Supreme Court. In the case, heard by a three-judge panel including Judge Sotomayor, the city refused to certify promotion exams when the results of the exam would have elevated 18 white firefighters and one Hispanic -- an outcome that would have underrepresented minorities. The firefighters sued, charging discrimination.

After the three judge panel issued a brief opinion repeating the district court's decision, the appeals court declined to rehear the case en banc, an outcome which infuriated Ms. Sotomayor's colleague and fellow Clinton appointee Jose Cabranes. In a dissent joined by five of his colleagues, Judge Cabranes criticized the slip-shod handling of the case by a majority that lacked the courage of its racial preference convictions. The "perfunctory disposition" of the opinion, he noted, "lacks a clear statement of either the claims raised by the plaintiffs or the issues on appeal."

Judge Cabranes added that the discrimination issues raised by the case were "worthy of review" by the Supreme Court, which took the case and may well overturn the Sotomayor panel's ruling. The case raises the question of whether a judge with an avowed commitment to applying her own "experience" to cases was disinclined to an argument made by those not sharing that personal experience.

Or consider the result last year in Knight v. Commissioner, in which the Supreme Court unanimously upheld her ruling in a tax case involving individual tax deductions, even as her reasoning drew a rebuke from Chief Justice John Roberts. The Second Circuit opinion "flies in the face of the statutory language," he wrote for the Court.

In April, the Supreme Court overturned 6-3 her 2007 ruling in Riverkeeper v. EPA in which she found that the EPA could not consider cost-benefit analysis in judging whether companies need to upgrade to the best technology available, even when the costs were wholly disproportionate to the benefits. And in the 2006 case of Merrill Lynch v. Dabit, the Court ruled 8-0 to overturn her position that a state class-action lawsuit against Merrill Lynch was not pre-empted by federal law.

Even the best judges get overturned, of course, but the issue here is less the result than Judge Sotomayor's legal reasoning. As a lower court judge, she was restrained by a higher authority. On the Supreme Court, she is limited only by the other Justices she can win over to her arguments.

As the first nominee of a popular President and with 59 Democrats in the Senate, Judge Sotomayor is likely to be confirmed barring some major blunder. But Republicans can use the process as a teaching moment, not to tear down Ms. Sotomayor on personal issues the way the left tried with Justices Clarence Thomas and Sam Alito, but to educate Americans about the proper role of the judiciary and to explore whether Judge Sotomayor's Constitutional principles are as free-form as they seem from her record.

What can the white man say to the black woman?

For four hundred years he ruled over the black woman’s womb.

Let us be clear. In the barracoons and along the slave shipping coasts of Africa, for more than twenty generations, it was he who dashed our babies brains out against the rocks.

What can the white man say to the black woman?

For four hundred years he determined which black woman’s children would live or die.

Let it be remembered. It was he who placed our children on the auction block in cities all across the eastern half of what is now the United States, and listened to and watched them beg for their mothers’ arms, before being sold to the highest bidder and dragged away.

What can the white man say to the black woman?

We remember that Fannie Lou Hamer, a poor sharecropper on a Mississippi plantation, was one of twenty-one children; and that on plantations across the South black women often had twelve, fifteen, twenty children. Like their enslaved mothers and grandmothers before them, these black women were sacrificed to the profit the white man could make from harnessing their bodies and their children’s bodies to the cotton gin.

What can the white man say to the black woman?

We see him lined up on Saturday nights, century after century, to make the black mother, who must sell her body to feed her children, go down on her knees to him.

We do not forget the forced sterilizations and forced starvations on the reservations, here as in South Africa. Nor do we forget the smallpox-infested blankets Indian children were given by the Great White Fathers of the United States government.

When we have children you do everything in your power to make them feel unwanted from the moment they are born. You send them to fight and kill other dark mothers’ children around the world. You shove them onto public highways in the path of oncoming cars. You shove their heads through plate glass windows. You string them up and you string them out.

Thirty million African children died on the way to the Americas, where nothing awaited them but endless toil and the crack of a bullwhip. They died of a lack of food, of lack of movement in the holds of ships. Of lack of friends and relatives. They died of depression, bewilderment and fear.

Let us look around us: Let us look at the world the white man has made for the black woman and her children.

It is a world in which the black woman is still forced to provide cheap labor, in the form of children, for the factories and on the assembly lines of the white man.

It is a world into which the white man dumps every foul, person-annulling drug he smuggles into creation.

It is a world where many of our babies die at birth, or later of malnutrition, and where many more grow up to live lives of such misery they are forced to choose death by their own hands.

What has the white man to say to the black woman, and to all women and children everywhere?

Let us consider the depletion of the ozone; let us consider homelessness and the nuclear peril; let us consider the destruction of the rain forests_in the name of the almighty hamburger. Let us consider the poisoned apples and the poisoned water and the poisoned air and the poisoned earth.

And that all of our children, because of the white man’s assault on the planet, have a possibility of death by cancer in their almost immediate future.

What has the white, male lawgiver to say to any of us? To those of us who love life too much to willingly bring more children into a world saturated with death?

Abortion, for many women, is more than an experience of suffering beyond anything most men will ever know; it is an act of mercy, and an act of self-defense.

To make abortion illegal again is to sentence millions of women and children to miserable lives and even more miserable deaths.

Given his history, in relation to us, I think the white man should be ashamed to attempt to speak for the unborn children of the black woman. To force us to have children for him to ridicule, drug and turn into killers and homeless wanderers is a testament to his hypocrisy.

What can the white man say to the black woman?

Only one thing that the black woman might hear.

Yes, indeed, the white man can say, Your children have the right to life. Therefore I will call back from the dead those 30 million who were tossed overboard during the centuries of the slave trade. And the other millions who died in my cotton fields and hanging from trees.

I will recall all those who died of broken hearts and broken spirits, under the insult of segregation.

I will raise up all the mothers who died exhausted after birthing twenty-one children to work sunup to sundown on my plantation. I will restore to full health all those who perished for lack of food, shelter, sunlight, and love; and from my inability to see them as human beings.

But I will go even further:

I will tell you, black woman, that I wish to be forgiven the sins I commit daily against you and your children. For I know that until I treat your chil dren with love, I can never be trusted by my own. Nor can I respect myself.

And I will free your children from insultingly high infant mortality rates, short life spans, horrible housing, lack of food, rampant ill health. I will liberate them from the ghetto. I will open wide the doors of all the schools and hospitals and businesses of society to your children. I will look at your children and see not a threat but a joy.

I will remove myself as an obstacle in the path that your children, against all odds, are making toward the light. I will not assassinate them for dreaming dreams and offering new visions of how to live. I will cease trying to lead your children, for I can see I have never understood where I was going. I will agree to sit quietly for a century or so, and meditate on this.

This is what the white man can say to the black woman.

Sorry white folks, no matter how many generation come between the legacy of slavery and the pains and struggles of the civil rights movement or any other incident where the reign of the white man has resulted in the enslavement, death or humiliation of other fellow human beings the groundwork has been laid to render the white man obsolete.

The primary objective of any politically elected or judicial minority is to reverse the pain and the stain heaped upon human kind by pale faced individuals.
Your laws will be intellectually castrated, your wealth posthumously revoked and your identity tarred and feathered and assigned the status of other pure breed pale skinned tyrants of historical lore that ruled and pillaged human kind.

Oddly enough the wall of white supremacy will be scaled and destroyed by fellow pale skinned individuals in a desperate attempt to maintain some legitimacy in this ever browning culture.
Whites fearful of the reprisal from the growing masses of tyranny will dismiss the rule of law the framework and foundation of our Constitution and even submit to punitive taxation in order to appease the tyrants.

The election of Barack Hussein Obama has indeed turned the tide with an American culture continually on the decline with the ascension of callousness, cruelty and utter stupidity where morality is frowned upon, educational excellence is rendered useless and the spirit of human achievement is now seemingly a pipe dream for far too many.

American culture is now dominated by the least intellectually capable where voting for the best dancer or singer is a national obsession, celebrating cruelty to others is now deemed preferred cultural entertainment with intellectual and moral dishonesty is now the preferred character trait among our so called heroes.

Because of our intellectual and moral decline the most abhorrent examples of human depravity are on full display from the temples of political power to the cheap examples of human failures displayed on the myriad of courtroom television shows.

Our world is now dominated by those who would kill another human being to appease a mythical idol to a woman who refuses to seek needed medical attention for her son on the basis of her so-called religious convictions to those who mutilate their own bodies in a desperate attempt at self identification adhering to the false idol embedded in the mind.

I'm sorry Mr. White man I lay the decline of morality and the rise of depravity at your feet.
It was you that deemed that a man with the middle name of Hussein was deemed worthy of guiding this nation.
A man who voiced contempt for this country and this culture who wishes to destroy the foundation of a nation that has liberated more people and shed more blood in the pursuit of liberty more than any other nation in human history.

The silly television shows, the endless parade of fools that come before us each and every day is just a ruse to cover the ever present decline of this nation. The perfect cloak to mask the political suicide taking place at the hands of a liberal tyrant.
Judicial nominee Sotomayor is just one of many who will seek to destroy the myth of white societal dominance. However keep in mind the decline started with the first donations to his campaign, the willingness of the white dominated media to ignore his past and the never ending guilt displayed by intellectually displaced whites seeking to make amends for the sins of their forefathers.

This indeed is the white mans burden.
