Tonight President Obama will and should address his first State of the Union speech to all Americans, regardless of race. But, it would be intriguing and edifying to imagine what a speech specifically addressed to African-Americans might sound like, especially since blacks are arguably bearing the worst brunt of our ongoing economic downturn. The text below is the speech I believe many of Obama's black supporters wish he would give.
My fellow African-Americans: I address you as both the President of the United States, and as black leader with a serious commitment to the advancement of the African-American community. Given that roughly one-quarter of my political support in the 2008 election came from African-Americans, I owe it to my community to specifically address the concerns of people of color. No longer will you give me a dollar's worth of loyalty in exchange for a nickel's worth of attention. Your issues are now on the table.
This was a difficult year for all of us. Black unemployment has regularly exceeded 15 percent, and black male unemployment is now over 50 percent in urban areas, such as New York City. When America was hit with an economic storm, black America was pummeled by a financial tsunami.
Large urban centers like Detroit have become virtual wastelands, due to the massive loss of manufacturing jobs. The automobile industry has been decimated, and in spite of my efforts to save these manufacturers, black Americans have still seen an unprecedented level of economic hardship. The Great Black Depression has been painful for us all.
In response to this highly unique set of economic circumstances, I am announcing a special task force that will analyze the employment gap for African-Americans. I will give this task force as much power as the ones designed to save the automobile and banking industries. We will analyze the devastating impact of bank foreclosures, which have hit the African-American community at a rate which dramatically exceeds that of the rest of America. We will even study the wealth gap, which has long been a damning reminder of America's history of slavery. We will finally make concrete progress on finding ways to fulfill Dr. Martin Luther King's dream of producing true economic equality throughout our great nation.
We've all shed tears for those who've lost their loved ones in the recent Haitian earthquakes. We are also well-aware that Haiti was an economic hell-on-earth long before the quakes rattled its shores. Sadly enough, much of this devastation has been at the hands of imbalanced and fundamentally biased policies of the United States government.

Ending 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' will be a teachable moment for black America
Census data show black women with same-sex partners serve in the military at 11 times the rate of women overall. The Pentagon reports black women are discharged under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" at three times the rate that they serve. Black lesbians in the military are often mothers, the discharge means unemployment, loss of health care benefits for children, this is a real threat to the black family.Black gay men aren't far behind in terms of discrimination. Platoon leaders such as Lt. Anthony Woods, a black gay Harvard and West Point grad, were discharged once their sexuality was discovered. Woods led a 64-soldier combat unit in Iraq and earned a Bronze Star. Woods ran for Congress last year. He didn't win, but appeared on national television and inspired countless young black gay men who rarely see themselves on such a platform.

Green eyeshade firmly affixed, the president has the audacity to believe that his proposed $477 billion dollar spending freeze in the middle of the deepest recession in more than twenty-five years is something that will work. It never has. He coulda asked President Carter. Better yet he coulda looked in the mirror and asked himself. Candidate Obama campaigned against John McCain’s spending freeze.To the consternation of many, President Carter insisted on spending cuts to domestic discretionary programs as unemployment remained stubbornly high. Like Obama, he had an electoral mandate that he squandered and Democratic majorities in both houses that he wasted. He produced no lasting domestic policy accomplishments and presided over a large defense buildup that Reagan continued and took credit for. Ideologically, President Obama, like Jimmy Carter, has been all over the map and it’s hard to keep track.
Obama was against the war in Iraq and then took office and escalated the war in Afghanistan. He railed against the greed on Wall Street and proposed a targeted tax on the banks, but facilitated the bailout of the worst hedge fund speculators and the unconscionable greed of investment banker con artists. He has done next to nothing to confiscate or put the breaks on record bonuses and payouts to the banksters as they tighten credit to small businesses and profess a let them eat cake attitude to the victims of their predatory loan schemes.

NAACP Embezzlement Case Leads to Charges Being Filed
A former executive for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was charged in Fulton County, Ga. for embezzling organizational funds. Judith W. Hanson and her former assistant, Sandra Douglass, are accused of embezzling $275,000 from the organization and using the money for their personal expenses.The alleged embezzlement took place over a six-year period and was discovered by an internal investigation, according to police. "Any malfeasance at whatever level is not tolerated by the NAACP," said Rev. Amos Brown. "But we do feel that this great organization should not be punished in the eyes of the public because of the actions of these two individuals."

When I was working on an issue to alleviate illegal dumping in the black community they did not do shit. When I was working on the school desegregation task force to help reduce the burden on black children when it came to bussing and minority school quotas they did not do shit.
While working on my clinic project I mentioned in my Snoop Chronicles they did not contribute one fucken dime to the project, a project that directly benefited black folks.
The only time you hear from this Negro minstrel organization is when they offer up some bullshit statement protecting the likes of Michael Vick or bitching about some nonsensical issue like Don Imus or eliminating the “N” word from some community.
They never tackle issues like job creation, crime; education because these mutherfuckers are still stuck in the 60’s waiting for the reincarnation of another MLK.
While the black community suffers these parasites somehow still raise money to do useless shit like throw Hennessey drink fests.

Last week, the White House featured as the ‘photo of the day’ a picture of Michelle Obama wearing a $2763 designer coat with matching dress of unknown cost and $850 custom made designer boots.
During the Obama’s $4000 per day Christmas vacation, Michelle Obama was photographed wearing a $635 pair of designer shoes. A recent study of five pairs of designer shoes worn last year by Michelle Obama showed an average price of $700 per pair.

Racial threat puts Ohio college on alert, on edge
NELSONVILLE, Ohio (AP) - An attacker could find many places to hide at Hocking College, a campus carved into a forest in the Appalachian foothills. And with the threat of a mass killing looming over black students at the community college, Allen Edwards is steering clear of the trees.
"I don't feel too safe walking by the woods," said Edwards, a 19-year-old black student from Canton. "There's woods everywhere. And somebody could be out in them, and I don't know."
The FBI is investigating a threat scrawled last week on a bathroom wall warning that black students would be killed Feb. 2. It bore the trademarks of just another casual—though chilling—threat of violence on a college campus, but students here aren't taking any chances.
At least two black students have withdrawn permanently from school out of fear for their safety, and another dozen have moved out of the dorm where the threat was found, officials at the two-year technical college said. Some students seem unperturbed, but others say the threat has brought simmering racial tensions to the surface.
