Official political innumeracy, enshrined in the census, steals our democracy. We count illegal immigrants the same as citizens and assign states congressional seats accordingly. This awards some states more representatives than they deserve. The census should, instead, count citizens separately, and Congress should reapportion representatives only on the basis of citizen populations. That would ensure that the votes of citizens in all parts of the country are as nearly equal as possible.

Libertarian Leader: We Do Not Support Rand Paul

The vice chairman of the Libertarian Party of Kentucky said last week that he strongly condemns the views of GOP candidate Rand Paul and suggested that the conservative group may run a competing candidate in the state’s upcoming Senatorial election.

Joshua Koch said that Paul—son of former Libertarian presidential candidate Ron Paul— boasts views that drastically differ from the fiscal conservative party’s ideology, including his opposition to abortion and same-sex marriage, The Associated Press (AP) reports. Koch also took issue with Paul’s criticism of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Joe Sestak an unpaid appointment to an obscure White House advisory panel in return for dropping his primary challenge to incumbent Sen. Arlen Specter?
