ObamaCare Mythology: One Man's Life Is Another Man's Loss - American Thinker

If President Obama is to be believed, health care is a dwindling, finite resource that must be rationed. According to Obama, quality health care for some deprives the less fortunate of quality care. The only good health care in Obama's worldview is that which is "redistributional."

So says Dr. Donald Berwick, Obama's new health care czar, appointed to oversee the distribution of $800 billion worth of benefits payments. This mostly means denying life-extending treatment to seniors, in practice. Of course, Obama lacks the constitutional authority to appoint an individual with this kind of authority without Senate confirmation, but using the "recess appointment" ruse, shocking even Democrat senators, Berwick now holds vast power over who gets what medical treatment.

Hispanic Democrats want health care fix
By: Carrie Budoff Brown

A group of Democratic lawmakers wants to use the immigration reform debate to fix one of the most hotly contested aspects of the health care law — provisions that bar immigrants from using new government programs to get coverage.

The move by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus would add a contentious new element to an already monumental task — passing a bill that puts 11 million illegal immigrants on a path to citizenship.

But the lawmakers say they’re merely following through on a pledge they made when the health care overhaul passed in March, and they expect the White House and Democratic leadership to do the same.

Documents show media plotting to kill stories about Rev. Jeremiah Wright- The Daily Caller

By Jonathan Strong

It was the moment of greatest peril for then-Sen. Barack Obama’s political career. In the heat of the presidential campaign, videos surfaced of Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, angrily denouncing whites, the U.S. government and America itself. Obama had once bragged of his closeness to Wright. Now the black nationalist preacher’s rhetoric was threatening to torpedo Obama’s campaign.

The crisis reached a howling pitch in mid-April, 2008, at an ABC News debate moderated by Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos. Gibson asked Obama why it had taken him so long – nearly a year since Wright’s remarks became public – to dissociate himself from them. Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you think Reverend Wright loves America as much as you do?”

The Video President Obama Doesn’t Want You To See - Right Wing News

The oil spill is a travesty beyond all imagination. It's hard to get a grip on how awful this all is. Watch this video of Bill Nungesser talking about what's happening. Once again The Right Scoop, scoops everyone. It very nearly made me cry because of the abject helplessness:

Brian, at The Right Scoop says (go read the whole thing):

The Obama administration’s response to this oil spill is horrible at best, and you can hear it in the voice of this very frustrated President of Plaquemines Parish. What’s sad is that we have to hear his complaints through a video on YouTube, and not from the MSM.

But really, doesn’t it feel like we’ve moved on from the oil spill? Where are the voices in the MSM hitting back against the Obama administration? It’s like Obama says “stand here”, and that’s where they stand. There is no way in hell they would have let Bush get away with this kind of dictator-like control, keeping the press away from the oil spill. No no no, it wouldn’t have happened.

Video Shows USDA Official Saying She Didn't Give 'Full Force' of Help to White Farmer

The Agriculture Department announced Monday, shortly after FoxNews.com published its initial report on the video, that Sherrod had resigned.

"There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA, and I strongly condemn any act of discrimination against any person," Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a written statement. "We have been working hard through the past 18 months to reverse the checkered civil rights history at the department and take the issue of fairness and equality very seriously.

Racist "Brown Berets" invade a peaceful, pro-Arizona crowd rallying in front of the All-Star Game in Anaheim, July 13, 2010. Modeled after the Black Panthers, the Brown Berets (nicknamed the "Tan Klan" because of their virulently racist views) want a "racially pure Aztlan" with all White Europeans and Jews forcibly removed. They are pro-Islamic terrorism and have called Osama Bin Laden the "Muslim Pancho Villa". Imagine if a handful of white Tea party folks walked into a pro-illegal rally and said similar things - it would make every national news broadcast for days on end. But of course, unlike the NAACP slander claims - the Tea Party does not stand for racism. But watch as the "Tan Klan" gets a pass for their hate by the media once again.

Obama Regime Lawyers Assert That Obamacare Mandate is a Tax - Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: Let's go back to September 20th, 2009, This Week with George Stephanopoulos. Obama was being interviewed by a fellow member of the ruling class, George Stephanopoulos, who says, "Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines tax as 'a charge, usually of money, imposed by authority on persons or property for public purposes.'"

OBAMA: George, the fact this you've looked up Merriam's dictionary, that -- uh, the definition of tax increase indicates to me that you're stretching a little bit right now. Otherwise you wouldn't have gone to the dictionary to check on the definition.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, no!

OBAMA: I mean, what --

STEPHANOPOULOS: I --

OBAMA: If what you're saying --

STEPHANOPOULOS: I wanted to check for myself. Your critics say it is a tax increase.

OBAMA: My critics say everything's a tax increase! My critics say that I'm taking over, uhh, every sector of the economy. You know that. Uh, eh, eh, eh, eh... Look, we can have a legitimate debate about whether or not we're going to have an individual mandate or not, but --

STEPHANOPOULOS: You reject that it's a tax increase?

OBAMA: I absolutely reject that notion.

RUSH: Now, here's what's interesting about this. He "rejects" the fact that this individual mandate, the fact that we have to go buy health insurance, is a tax. So there's a lawsuit out there. Attorneys general from various states, a bunch who work in a law school saying, "Hey, the federal government cannot mandate the American people buy anything. It's the Commerce Clause. You can't do it." So what has the Obama administration now said? In defending that lawsuit, the Obama administration says that the individual mandate is a tax, that they have the authority to levy and raise taxes. So Obama lied through his teeth. Everything about health care that he said was an out-and-out lie! Small firms are now no longer able to provide health insurance.

Small insurance companies no longer able to provide it, and they're gonna send people in Massachusetts, the state, to do it, and that's coming in the federal version of health care as well. The private sector insurance companies are hanging by a thread. They're not going to be around long. On purpose. But Obama now has to go out and say, in order defend this lawsuit against the individual mandate, "No, it's not a mandate. We're not mandating everybody buy health insurance. It's a tax, and we have the authority to levy and raise taxes." All the while denying as he just did to Stephanopoulos (that's back in 2009) that it was a tax. So now back to Mr. Codevilla: the 2010 medical law is a template for the ruling class's economic modus operandi. "The 2010 medical law is a template for the ruling class's economic modus operandi: the government taxes citizens to pay for medical care and requires citizens to purchase health insurance.

"The money thus taken and directed is money that the citizens themselves might have used to pay for medical care. In exchange for the money, the government promises to provide care through its 'system.' But then all the boards, commissions, guidelines, procedures, and 'best practices' that constitute 'the system' become the arbiters of what any citizen ends up getting. The citizen might end up ... dependent on all the boards and commissions that his money also pays for and that raise the cost of care. Similarly, in 2008 the House Ways and Means Committee began considering a plan to force citizens who own Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) to transfer those funds into government-run 'guaranteed retirement accounts.'

"If the government may force citizens to buy health insurance, by what logic can it not force them to trade private ownership and control of retirement money for a guarantee as sound as the government itself? Is it not clear that the government knows more about managing retirement income than individuals?" Is it not clear? Who says they do? Yet this is how the ruling class operates.

Here's what Obama's doing with your money – in Kenya! - World Net Daily
3 Republican congressmen reveal Barack secretly spent $23 million

An investigation by three Republican congressmen has revealed the Obama administration has secretly spent $23 million of U.S. taxpayer dollars in Kenya to fund a "Yes" vote on a constitutional referendum scheduled for Aug. 4 that would increase access to abortions in Kenya and establish legal status for Islamic law tribunals.

Meanwhile, trusted sources in Kenya tell WND that the White House has used Vice President Joseph Biden's trip to Kenya in June and the office of U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Michael E. Ranneberger to put out the message that passage of the referendum would enable the White House to open the floodgates to allow millions of dollars of additional U.S. government aid and private investment capital to flow into Kenya.

Last week, in response to inquiries from Reps. Chris Smith, R-N.J., Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., and Darrell Issa, R-Calif., the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, admitted to spending more than $23 million of U.S. taxpayer money to influence voters in Kenya to pass the highly contentious constitution.

Islamic Body Declares Cat Poop Coffee Clean Enough For Muslims - Gateway Pundit

Indonesia’s top Islamic body declared Tuesday that Muslims can drink civet coffee—the world’s most expensive coffee, which is extracted from the dung of civet cats.
A preacher recently suggested the beverage might not be “halal”—or religiously approved—because its unusual provenance makes it unclean. But after a long discussion Tuesday, the influential Indonesian Ulema Council said that the coffee, known locally as Kopi Luwak, could be consumed as long as the beans were washed.

Food bank mistakenly gives out dog food

CLEARWATER, Fla., July 18 (UPI) -- A food bank in Clearwater, Fla., distributed a can labeled as a "superfood" that turned out to be a can of dog food, the recipient said.

On Social Security, retired Air Force veteran Frank Viscido made his weekly trip from his home in Largo to the Religious Community Services Food Bank in Clearwater for free food, The St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported.

Viscido was given the can labeled, "Senior Holistic Superfood" by a volunteer who noticed he wanted products for better health, the newspaper reported Friday.

"You're a senior. This ought to be good for you," Viscido remembered the man saying.

"Looked good," said the grandfather of four.

The label boasted glucosamine, beta carotene, vitamins and anti-oxidants for "sharp vision, strong Immune System, joint health."

And on the front of the can, "Healthy skin...and coat." "Superfoods every dog needs."
