Zimmerman has said he shot the 17-year-old in self-defense, though Martin was reportedly carrying only a bag of Skittles and an iced tea when he was killed. Despite a loud national outcry, Zimmerman has not been arrested or charged in Martin’s death.
According to Tampa Bay Fox affiliate WTVT-TV, what the witness says he saw could bolster Zimmerman’s claim that he shot Martin in self-defense:
“The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: ‘help, help…and I told him to stop and I was calling 911,” he said.
Trayvon Martin was in a hoodie; Zimmerman was in red.
The witness only wanted to be identified as “John,” and didn’t not want to be shown on camera.
His statements to police were instrumental, because police backed up Zimmerman’s claims, saying those screams on the 911 call are those of Zimmerman.
“When I got upstairs and looked down, the guy who was on top beating up the other guy, was the one laying in the grass, and I believe he was dead at that point,” John said.

Black Panthers post $10k reward for Zimmerman - ABC News
Sanford, Fla - The announcement was made Saturday by new Black Panther leader Mikhail Muhammad during a rally in Sanford, Florida. Muhammad went on to say "An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth," when asked if the proposed bounty was an outright call for violence.*********
The rally was the third staged by the Black Panthers in two weeks since the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The shooter, 28-year-old George Zimmerman, served as the leader of a neighborhood watch group in a gated community in suburban Orlando. Zimmerman has yet to be arrested by police for the incident.
The Black Panthers called for Zimmerman's immediate arrest and threatened to seek him out themselves if police were not willing to do so. "If the government won't do the job, we'll do it," Muhammad said.
Roland Martin: “This is war”… “a call to arms” - American Freedom
Whether we want to admit it or not, Trayvon Martin could be any of us. It doesn’t matter about our degrees. Our fine, tailored suits don’t matter. We’ve made all of the accommodations to fit into this society. We’ve cut our hair. We’re careful about the clothes we wear. We change the way we talk so as not to sound threatening. We’ve got our master’s, our Ph.D.’s. We’re fine, upstanding citizens. Yet, we still are seen as suspicious — and in the case of Trayvon Martin, end up dead. The national outcry over this senseless tragedy has galvanized African-Americans and others in a way that we haven’t seen in some time. Some say this is this generation’s Emmett Till. Time will only tell if that’s the case.
But what we do know is that we are sick and tired of being seen as suspicious. We’re sick of tired of being seen as a stereotype and not as full human beings. We’re sick and tired of having to give our Black boys “The Talk” and still having to bury them so young.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are sick and tired of being sick and tired.
The George Zimmerman Lynch Mob - Right Wing News
This week-end, Spike Lee retweeted George Zimmerman’s address, the Black Panthers put a $10,000 bounty on his head, Louis Farrakhan issued a vague threat, and there have been so many death threats on Twitter against Zimmerman that they’re almost impossible to count.
I’m not a fan of lynch mobs, no matter what color they happen to be — and that’s what this is turning into — a lynch mob.
George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin. He should stand trial for that. However, there’s a difference between putting a man on trial and declaring him to be guilty or worse yet, declaring him to be some kind of racist who shot an innocent kid to death for no good reason.
The fact of the matter is that a lot of the information that the mainstream media ran with in the beginning was wrong. Moreover, since then, a lot of key details are being left out. For example, Trayvon Martin is not the little kid in the pictures they’re showing. He was a 6’3, 140 pound football player who was on top of George Zimmerman, beating him. Zimmerman apparently did sustain significant injuries, called for help, and then at some point afterwards, shot Martin. That’s not to say Zimmerman is an angel in this. Even though he was the neighborhood watch captain, he shouldn’t have been following Martin in the first place — if he was following him. But, even if he was overzealous, does that mean Martin had free rein to attack him? Was Martin afraid for his life or was Zimmerman, as he says, actually walking back to his car when Martin attacked him?
This is actually a very sad, surprisingly ambiguous case that should have NEVER been made into a political football in the first place. Although Zimmerman should face a trial, it’s entirely possible that HE DID NOT break the law and doesn’t deserve to go to jail.*********
Rightbloggers Find the Trayvon Martin Case Proof of Racism -- Against White People - The Village Voice
One of the enduring myths of American conservatism is that there's still racism in this country -- and it's suffered by white people at the hands of blacks and white liberal race-traitors.*********
Normal people who've been out of their homes a time or two will find that puzzling. But for rightbloggers it's a home truth.
Don't believe it? Feast your eyes on the rightblogger coverage of the Trayvon Martin case.
As you've probably heard, 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot dead by 28-year-old George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida. The white shooter had called 911 to complain that a black guy was walking around his neighborhood, then opened fire.
There has been some dispute about what preceded the killing: An unnamed witness claims the 140-lb. Martin physically attacked the 240-lb. Zimmerman; no one knows for sure whether this happened before or after Martin saw the stranger coming at him with a gun.
What's not in dispute is that Martin was unarmed (though he was carrying Skittles and wearing a hoodie), and that Zimmerman was not arrested by the local police after he shot Martin dead.
This has expectedly enraged a lot of people who consider it one more in a long series of incidents in which white people have killed black people for nothing and gotten away with it.
Rightbloggers were enraged too -- that anyone felt sorry for the dead black kid rather than for the live white killer.
Their main argument was: Why does a white guy killing a black guy and getting away with it make you libtards think of racism?
Neil Boortz admitted that "as things look now," it seemed as if Zimmerman were "a law enforcement wannabe who was destined to end up in a controversy like this." He added that "Trayvon Martin's family says that they don't believe that their son would have been killed if it were not for the color of his skin. I believe they're right. "
The Politics of Tragedy - The American Spectator
President Obama declared in a press conference Friday that Trayvon Martin, the 17-year old African-American student fatally shot by Florida neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman in February, looks like his own hypothetical son. "If I had a son," Obama declared, "he would look like Trayvon." The racial implication of the president's statement was clear. The man who gained national prominence with a 2004 Democratic Convention speech calling for cultural unity stood in the Rose Garden of the White House and furthered the racial tension surrounding Martin's shooting. In a politicized national debate in which the Washington Post accused Zimmerman of "murder" and mainstream media writers call for the man's arrest, President Obama opined on an issue on which he -- like everyone else -- is not fully informed.*********

Obama faces major enthusiasm gap compared to Bill Clinton in 1996 - Human Events
A major sign of President Barack Obama’s weakness in his own political party base has been revealed in the president’s poor voter turnout in eight major presidential primaries so far this year.Media blackout on Obama eligibility near-total - WND
Obama has won only 1,213,759 votes in 2012 compared to then-President Bill Clinton’s 1,695,756 in 1996 in eight state primaries where a fair comparison can be made.
Both candidates faced similar situations with weak or no opposition in these primaries with their names on the ballot. As the chart shows, when finally adjusted for voter registration changes since 1996, Obama in 2012 has only 56 percent of the Clinton vote in 1996. Overall Obama won only 4.5 percent of the registered voters in these eight states compared to Clinton’s 8.0 percent.
It is, of course, unknown if the trend will hold in coming contests, but the turnout evidence from primaries to date suggests vulnerabilities for the Obama campaign that other indicators of voter sentiment, such as polling, have not picked up.
Even though almost half of registered voters tell pollsters they are not convinced Barack Obama’s birth certificate is authentic – and even though the first official U.S. law enforcement investigation into the matter established “probable cause” that the document released with great fanfare by the White House last April is a computer-generated forgery – a virtual media blackout remains in effect on the most controversial story of the Obama presidency.
Even when one of several bombshell findings of Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s six-month investigation into Obama’s constitutional eligibility was rated last week by Internet ranking service Alexa.com as one of the most-read news stories in the entire world – due almost entirely to coverage by WND and the Drudge Report – not only the establishment press, but most of the “conservative” media as well, looked the other way.
